Glasgow-based contact centre go-centric has rapidly expanded its workforce and now has more than 1,000 employees.

A labour market survey of new employees has revealed that 35 per cent were previously out of work, highlighting go-centric’s crucial role in helping Scotland’s economic recovery.

The firm has also become an accredited Living Wage employer and is in the process of being ‘Youth Verified’ in recognition of its commitment to young workers.

The specialist people-first outsourcer has grown from just over 50 workers three years ago and is on course for continued expansion.

The firm, whose private sector clients include major fashion retailers, has played a key role helping deliver vital services to governments.

It was recently awarded a place on the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) framework among ‘the very best providers who can bring highly innovative and transformational services’, ensuring it can bid more widely for outsourcing services across all public sector bodies.

Go-centric’s success stems from investment in its workforce, with all call handlers paid above the Real Living Wage, no zero-hour contracts, an employee ambassador initiative, digital development programme, and a partnership with wellbeing service provider Lifelink.

It is also actively involved in the ‘Scottish Women in Business’ network and is a registered ‘disability confident’ employer, and supports a number of charities including Shelter UK.

go-centric’s workforce remains largely remote, allowing it to attract employees from across the UK, with team mechanisms in place to support people with homeworking.

It is on course to further grow the employee base in the coming months.
